Making a scrapbook, it will be pretty thick, how can I bind it?

I've made the covers out of cardboard I cut off a box, and I think I'll just use normal paper for the pages. I can't buy anything to use with it, at least not before I make it. It's about 20x20cm, and there will be like 70 pages... I know that's heaps and I'm completely at a loss as to how I'm ever going to hold it all together! I like the idea of that swirly stuff on notebooks and I know there are places to can get that done, but I'm pretty sure it will be too thick for that. I really need help, anyone??

  1. You can buy ring binders at Wal*Mart for under $1 a package.  They come in pretty colors, metallic.  The ring opens up and you can put several papers on one ring.

  2. You can use large jump rings that can be found at the office supply store, or ribbon.

Just make sure the paper inside the book is strong enough, otherwise it will rip when you turn the pages.

You could use hole reinforcements (also found at the office supply store) to protect the paper holes from ripping.

Here's some examples of handmade albums.

    Have fun!

  3. They make binders that can hold a lot.  The binding is adjustable.  I'll try to find a pic for you...
