uhmmm. im REALLY new at making videos. when i watch videos, i see that their is no sounds other than their voices even though you can tell there is wind in the background. how is this possible? do they voice it over? or do they have like a microphone thing that helps out the sound quality.

thanks to anyone who answers!!!

  1. Yea, they either record with a completely separate audio recorder with levels to enhance sound or they connect the microphone as an Auxiliary and change the camera settings so the on camera mic is not used.

The best microphone to use is a cardioid shotgun microphone on a boom with a dead rabbit (thats the big fuzzy thing) as a windscreen.

  2. Actors redo their lines at a recording studio & professional microphones are better quality than consumer microphones. But it really does not matter because chances are your camcorder does not have a external microphone jack!

  3. yeah they either wear external microphones,or use a boom microphone(big fuzzy thing on a stick) or some higherend camcorders have higher quality microphones that are better for isolating noise.plus you could just record the sound with a pc microphone and sync the sound up.
