  1. If you can do it. Spotlight yourself, literally, on the video, by showing any scout who you are, not just "I'm the one in front of the red head, #12"

You may need to use movie editing software but that helps tremendously. You should introduce yourself in the beginning, telling them what position you play, and why you want to play volleyball in college. Don't be afraid to show them your personality. Do this at the end of the video too. Coaches need to know the personality of a player they'll be coaching for the next 4 years just as much as the skill level of the player.

Music isn't necessary, but some narration might be helpful.

Making just the right video is something that can be left to professionals. If you are serious about this and you are a top prospect. Have your parents call a professional scout video place. You can find them online too. They do this for a living and know what college coaches are looking for. It may be expensive for your tastes, but it could mean the difference between a great and a good college. (I don't believe in bad colleges. :) )

  2. I would say that you want to include a few highlights of you playing.  These should be quick clips of some great digs, hits or blocks you've made. Then go into raw game footage showing how you move on the court, talk to you teammates, react to game situations and so on.  Make sure you are visible the whole time in the video.

    Hope this helps
