Making a video with a Sony camcorder?

Some videos on youtube have low volume and some have high volume. My speakers are always adjusted to the same volume level. How can I make sure my video that I'll be putting on youtube won't have a low volume? How do I set the date and time? How do I make the date and time appear on my video? Where does the small round battery go?

The manual is lost somewhere.

If you lost your owners manual you can go to Sony's website and look for a downloadable version (usually a PDF file). look under product support . You'll need to know the model number.
