Making a whole episode?

I watched an interview with Seth McFarlane (the creator of family guy) and he said that it took about 9 months to make an episode of family guy, and that each frame was hand drawn.

If it takes that long to make an episode, than wouldn't it take years to make one season of episodes?

Also, if they draw each frame by hand, do they actually get a new piece of paper and redraw everything, or just edit the current picture?

  1. I know it's true that FOX has their animation done in Korea in art studios that work like factories with hundreds of cartoonists working on the same episodes. If its true that they take 9 months, all hand drawn then they probably have hundreds of people working on multiple episodes at the same time.
