  1. Keep the tv, they may want to see it, even take it away themselves. Your father didn't mount it on the wall - did he! Lol! Just phone and ask for a claim form, I feel quite sure it won't be long before ins companies are excluding wall mounted tvs - it's not uncommon - if that's any comfort to your dad!

  2. Making a claim. Direct Line. hahahaha

You're about to find out why they don't sell through intermediaries.

  3. dont lie - just tell the truth, this is exactly what accidental damage cover is for.

I expect Direct Line may well have approved suppliers for TV's and will probably simply have one delivered to you from their supplier - most insurers do these days as they get bulk purchase discounts and thus keep down overall claims costs.

Make sure you have your receipt.

Good luck - dont let your dad hang the next one up!!

  4. It sounds feasible to me and you have definitely convinced me LOL. BUT, when you phone up the insurance company, remember that they use lie detectors and will be able to tell by your speech pattern if you are telling the truth. I don't think there should be a problem though. Tell your Dad to use bigger screws and put them in the wall properly LOL.

  5. What has happened is accidental damage, so tell the truth and you will be fine there will be a telephone number to phone them. Good luck.
