Making/constructing a Table.........?

Question

For an event, I want to make a table.

It would have huge lettering on the bottom and then just a wooden plank or something for a surface. It's just as a podium/speaker table sort of thing.

Basically it would look something like (if I use tree for example):

TREE

with the letters supporting the surface.. and I'm talking about HUGE letters, like 3 feet high. Does anyone know how I could possible go about doing this?

all kinds of ways one way would be too buy a sheet of mdf board, same stuff speaker boxes are made of like a 4X8 sheet from home depot and make the lettering out of compressed styro foam to make the letters out of , go to home depot or a craft store for mor ideas, so many too say............depends on the weight your putting on the table too..............
