Making crystals...............?

Question

what can i use to make crystals of house hold items.

execpt salt and sugar because im already using it. and is there a way to make a salt or sugar crystal grow bigger or very big.

But that won't make those big geometric crystals I assume you're after. For that, I think you'd need a lab.

Both salt and sugar crystals will grow bigger if you grow them slowly.  You have to prevent rapid evaporation by keeping the heat low and humidity high.  Try covering the container almost completely, leaving  just a few small air holes.  Coarse string in the solution can give the crystals a good starting point.  

You can grow MSG crystals, lye crystals (a bit dangerous and you must handle it carefully).
