Check this out, they say it works right now and is patented.

http://definitiveenergy.net/index.html What do you guys say??? Is this the holy grail? Or is something missing?

  1. The Holy Grail might be a better solution.

  2. I think it's hog wash!

  3. The scientific reason.

Fuels are fuels because the molecules have high energy.  It's usually created by the sun, ie sun makes plants grow, plants die, get buried, change into coal or oil.

Water has low energy.  Remember it's a product of combustion of fossil fuels.  There's no energy left to combust.  The way they make fuel is by adding energy to the water.  From the website:

"The technologies consist of striking an electric arc under water, which results in a hydrogen, carbon and oxygen plasma"

The electric arc uses electricity.  More than you get back.  It's no free energy, just another way to turn electricity and water into hydrogen.  Which is a well known process.  And not owned by anyone.

  4. Separation of hydrogen and oxygen from water creates energy.

Energy can be created from the separated oxygen and the hydrogen.

But the effective patent for this formula is owned by GM, those greedy selfish b******s!

  5. This site looks like a bunch of yak-yak-yak blah blah blah to me.

  6. If I understand the referenced website's claims correctly, the process was patented to render non-potable water into potable (drinking) water.

The word "fuel" is used to describe gaseous by-products of the water purification process, which are in turn used to power the unit which performs this function.

An analogy could be drawn between this process and the production of petroleum, which takes even more energy to discover, drill, pump, refine, and distribute than the "Definitive Energy" water purification system does.

The difference is in the nature of the products and by-products. While the result of refining petroleum is fuel - enough to power much of the industrialized world, the result of this patented water purification process is drinking water, and perhaps enough combustible gas to continue the process.

It appears then, that the aim of the product is not to produce fuel, but to self-power the water purification process.

I recall seeing a report on the evening news that described this product, and it was touted as a clean-water solution for disaster areas like post-Katrina New Orleans, rural Africa, hurricane shelters, etc., that may be surrounded by "water, water everywhere, but not a drop to drink."

I believe the claims of energy production are made more to attract the attention of media and possible investors, than to accurately describe the purpose of the system.

While it is clear that the website needs to be overhauled, and its content rewritten to professional standards, the enterprise it represents (Definitive Energy, LLC) is clearly pictured along with its Florida address. This could be construed as an invitation for enthusiasts and skeptics alike to visit, and see for themselves.

Thanks for publicizing this issue before the next disaster hits. The technology has merits and the inventors should be proud. I just might drop by to congratulate them...
