Making fun of accent?

I have quite a strong posh accent and somebody once made fun of it sligthly. Is this anything to be ashamed having a posh accent?

  3. No.  Having an accent is just part of being yourself.

  4. People will always make fun of any accent, so it's up to you to show them that you are proud of yours and that you don't care about what others think. Maybe your accent is a bit "exaggerated" ? I would say, don't change because of a joke, just laugh it off !
