  1. well I have a 3 year old baby girl quarter horse and I use shampony! its a pink bubble gum watermelon scented shampoo that actualy works! after i use that i come out the tail really thouroughly then use a spray called shiny hiny that gets it silky smooth. if its real course then main and tail conditioner works.

  2. Flax seed and some oils added to his feed will do better at making him soft and shiny than just grooming and products. A horse on a balanced diet with dewormer will naturally have a good coat though.

I have heard good things about Pepe or Pipe (cant remember the name) though I have never used it. Show sheen is good. I would keep bathing to a minimum and watch that the skin doent get dried out from the chemicals in the spray

  3. There  is  shampoo called  Tail  and  Mane,  pet  supply and  even  now  in  human sampoo area.  Also  a  vinager  water(half  and  half  rince  will put  a  sheen  to  it  but avoid  eyes.  *mamatx

  4. Cowboy magic shampoo and conditioner is fantastic. It cleans and conditions for silky coats. After sweat scraping, don't just let the pony drip dry. Running a towel all over will do wonders for the coat. As for the mane and tail, use human conditioner (I like Pantene Pro-V) and leave it on for 5-10 minutes. Make sure you get all the conditioner out or else your pony will have an itchy tail.. which will result in no tail!! And I wouldn't recommend giving him a full out bath more than once a week or else he'll dry out... eek.

  5. ShowSheen works wonders for short term.  Feeding corn oil or beet pulp helps the coat look sheen and healthy.

  6. Good coat condition comes from inside. Good feed will show through. You could try adding a little oil to the feed for that bit extra.

If you want to bath him then VO5 is a good shampoo to use and it works well on tails too. Don't bath too often or you will remove the natural oils from the coat.

  7. for the mane and tail to look soft and clean(w/ some shine!) I use magic cowboy detangler, it also helps to grow my horses tail in

for the shampoo and conditioner I use magic cowboy also, he was the most snugglable soft horse in the barn!

  8. My favoriet product to use is called gold nugget equine lotion. This is the best suff for making a horse shiny. Also the horse stays clean for days after you use this stuff. Also it is therapeutic and help with the horses skin. Here is a website to this product.

Also the supplement flax seed can be put in the horses feed and this hlep keep the coat shiny and healthy.

  9. Well, a few things; you don't actually need PRODUCTS to make your horse look pretty. Try these tried-and-true methods first.

Every day, after you've brushed him, take a really soft rag and spend several minutes wiping his coat gently down with it (the longer you do it, the shinier his coat gets! I often spend 10 minutes doing this, and the results show it!).

Also, don't brush or comb through his mane & tail. Finger-comb and gently, patiently separate the tangles. That's the secret to a soft, full mane & tail.

As for products, I find that Suave Naturals Shampoo & conditioner is great for making the mane and tail beautiful. The best scents are Waterfall Mist or Ocean Breeze.

  10. Bath your pony every couple of weeks.  Curry comb and brush your pony daily.  These should keep the coat and tail clean and soft.
