Making sushi.............?

Hey im hinking about making sushi. the kind with the crab in it. Where can i get that crab? I know the market, of coarse, but is it that packaged crab? And do i need to shred it up or anything and mix it with anything to get that soft texture? Help! Lol. Do i need to mix it with mayo or something?

  1. it's not crab but surimi

    it's basically imitation crab made from fish

    you can pick them up in the fish rayon of most supermarkets


  2. You can buy imitation crab which i chop really fine or you can buy expensive fresh crab out of a can

  3. it's called artificial crab stick. you can find it in the frozen section.

    lay it on top of your nori wrapper, cooked sticky rice, cucumber slice, mango/avocado. add japanese mayo. roll.

  4. the ones i know with crab in it actually have surimi sticks in them. Its imitation crab. You dont need to chop it or shape it, it already has a stick dhape. Just roll it in. In holland you can buy it at any fish store, or in supermarkets at the fish department. Good luck. Also a good thing to know; when you shape the rice, make sure to keep your hands wet to prevent sticking.
