Question:

Making white blonde hair more natural?

I have been slowly getting my hair bleached out to avoid orange or brassy results. My hair is now officially really blonde. It is actually a white looking blonde. I love super pale blonde hair, but i was wanting it to look more natural. I bought a box color "extra light blonde". I was wondering if i put a blonde COLOR on my hair and not BLEACH, if that would make the white look more natural? like instead of white, it would look slightly darker and more natural, while still being platinum. Is this going to ruin what i've been working on for so long?? i do not want any yellow at all. I just don't want it to look quite so whiteish. Any ideas???

  1. personally, im really scared when it comes to using hair color in a box, find a stylist with experience in color...that would probably be your best bet. you cant always go by what the color says on the box because of the chemicals already in your hair, and your hair itself.

  2. I have had practically the same experience as you. At first I dyed my hair so that it was this unwanted copper brassy blonde, but the more I got into it the lighter I would go. My mother went to school for cosmetology and specialized in hair and has been doing my hair ever since I can remember so I'd like to think I could be of some helpt to you!

First off I'm going to say you should absolutely positively by an actual color to deposit into your hair. In my personal opinion stripping your hair of all color and leaving it white is just way to harsh. My color is *very* light and very fair, at the time I really wanted to achieve that Scarlet Johansson color from the Island which is quite close to white but just that much softer. The color I use varies from Nordic Blonde to Ivory Lady, both are in that extremely fair haired family, light and very natural looking. I should point out that their not box colors. I think these would work best, and I *constantly* get complimented on the color as everyone is convinced that it's natural. So if you're looking for a naturally light looking color those would be my recommendations. Even when my roots start to show I still somehow trick people into thinking I'm a natural blonde!!! Of course it helps that I'm kind of pale!

Well I hope I've been of some help to you and go with some color!!! It will soften your face up and make it look much more natural as opposed to a harsh white. Plus, you can often tell when a person's bleached their hair so I think it would be kind of defeating the purpose. Good luck!!!

  3. do not put a Box color on your head, it will turn out horrible like orange or yellow. go to your stylist and tell what you just said and she will apply a different toner to your hair to make it more natural. or she can add a little darker blond low lights to your hair. thats what i did i was white platinum for a while then i decided to go more natural so i had my stylist (my sis in-law, shes professional) put some darker blond in, hardly noticable but you can tell its more natural looking

please do not ruin your hair i know hard it is to get to white platinum. i know i know.

  4. DO NOT DO IT YOURSELF!!! Trust me from experience, it most likely will not come out ok. Go to a hair salon. They will help you and NOT ruin your hair. I suggest hilights or lo-lights. They can give you a more natural look witihout making it look orange or yellow. My friend had white blonde hair and they added a shade darker and it looks sooo nice!

  5. Wella (sold at Sally's) makes great toners!  A toner is what you put on your hair to combat any unwanted tone your hair currently has.  If you use a blonde box color, you will actually be using a lift color - you don't want to lift color you want to add tone.  Also, avoid a temporary color, as that will only color unevenly where your hair is the most porous (like a sponge).  A toner adds tone - so you can add wheat blonde, golden blonde, yellow blonde - there are a lot of choices.  Make sure to use toner developer and not lift developer.

  6. If you go into a chemist and get a toner

that will help, its like this stuff thats lik blue or purple

it makes ur hair liook like yellowey rather then white

just ask in there if u need help =]

  7. DO NOT PUT THE BOX DYE IN YOUR HAIR!!

my sister did this and it ruined everything that she did at the salon and it was a waste of money and time

my suggestion is wait a couple of weeks so your hair isn't so weak and so when you dye it again it won't burn your scalp

after this is would go back to the salon/hairdresser and get 2 shades darker streaks(or lowlights whatever your want to call them)..after a few weeks keep on adding more streaks it will look more natural
