Making your own Fishing gear?

Hey can any one give me any tips on makeing

Hooks (from house hold things)

and any other fishing gear?

You can use paper clips for hooks. Of course you'll have to reshape them into hooks, and use a file to sharpen the tip. You can take old cork from mom and dads wine bottles and use them as floats, and for fishing line it would be best to use dental floss instead of sewing thread. Floss is a lot stronger than thread. Use an old broom stick for the fishing rod. Hope that helps...

u might be able to use copper wire to make hooks and file the sharp, the get a good sized stick or mabey a broom stick and use mabe some dental floss for line and a cork from wine bottle just have to make a really small whole and use a tooth pick like wen using bullet weights to stop it from moving,

and u kinda have a homemade cane poll, u probly wont catch anything big but catching small fish is better than catching none, and wait till after it rains and go turn over logs and tree branches for worms

well you might be able to make a hook from a clothes hangar if you do it right

Buy hooks, they are stronger and because of the way they are designed will ensure a better hook-up with a fish, in an emergency survival situation safety pins work well.

why don't you just buy one instead of been tight

For your time you will spend, and the money you will spend getting the right materials, you are better off just buying them.  You can use lots of household items, but then you must take the time to sharpen them, and they will not hold up to a big fish.  It is better in all areas if you at least buy the cheap 1.00 packs of hooks.
