Northamptonshire Steelbacks’ top order batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mal-Loye-c1879, is struggling with a groin injury and his participation in the initial part of the T20 competition is in serious doubt.
Loye is considered as a specialist for the limited overs format of the game as he has the ability to score quick runs during the power-play overs.

Capel said, “Mal felt it during the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Essex-c783 game and it’s got worse. We’ve got to make sure that it’s right and that he isn’t in any pain when he’s on the field. Mal is a big player for us in the t20 but we don’t want his injury to get any worse and rule him
out for a longer period.”
Loye has also played international cricket for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 as he took part in seven One Day Internationals for his country. However, the hard hitting batsman failed to make an impression at the highest level of the sport and just averaged 20.28 runs per innings.
Capel is concerned about Loye’s injury and does not know how long it will take the right-hander to recover completely.
He refused to admit that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Northamptonshire-c824’s chances will be damaged in the T20 competition if Loye does not get fit, adding that Loye missed a big portion of last season as well, but his team went on to play the quarter-final of the T20 tournament.
“How long he will be out for is difficult to predict. These types of injuries sometimes take a couple of weeks but can be as long as three or four. He missed a chunk of the competition last year and we got to the quarter-finals so it’s not the end of the
world. But it will be good for us when he is fit again,” he added.
