The presentation of the Cameroonian shot-stopper comes a day after Willy Caballero renewed his contract with the Spanish side. Kameni congratulated the Argentine and opined that healthy competition will lead to overall improvement in their performances.
"Competition makes me grow, I knew Willy who is a great goalkeeper. I like his mentality. I have come to become a part of a group that wants to do something big,” he said.
Kameni also had kind words for Espanyol with whom he made his name in Spanish top flight. He thanked the club for the glorious years and stated that he will not forget them.
The Douala-born player rejected notions of him holding grudges against the Catalan side but accepted that his last few months with the club were not easy.
“I have no grudges against Espanyol, but the time came when I could not play and that was very difficult. I'm very excited. I believe in God and not by chance that I'm here."
