Malaga prepare to offer 12 million Euros for Lucho http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 – La Liga news
French Ligue 1 side, Olympique de Marseille star, Lucho Gonzalez is set to leave Stade Velodrome amidst rumours that La Liga outfit Malaga are preparing a 12 million Euro bid for the Argentine playmaker. The ambitious Spanish side is keen on improving the
squad ahead of the 2011/12 La Liga campaign and see the influential playmaker as a valuable addition to the squad.
It was confirmed by Marseille last week that the player had indicated his desire to leave the club. The Ligue 1 side is now looking to cash in on the South American, who joined Les Phoceens from Portuguese giants http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 in the summer of 2009 for a club
record fee of 18 million Euros. Though Malaga were previously linked with a move for Palermo star, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Pastore-c18082, the 30-year-old Gonzalez seems to be a more realistic target for the Andalucíans.
For the last two months, rumours suggested that Marseille were looking to offload a few players in the summer transfer window, and Lucho Gonzalez was one of those players on that list. Fellow Argentine, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gabriel-Heinze-c14310, is also one of the players set to leave
Stade Velodrome in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that the Rhone club is demanding 13 million Euros for Lucho Gonzalez but might be willing to negotiate over the price for the player. Since joining last season’s Ligue 1 champions, Gonzalez has made 66 appearances for the club and has
scored 13 goals. His current contract at Marseille will expire in the summer of 2013 but with the club looking to reduce the burden on its payroll, Malaga might be able to meet Marseille’s demands.
Malaga was bought last summer by Qatari businessman, Sheikh Abdullah Al Thani. Since the arrival of the Qatari, the club has started scouting for some of the best talent in the world as they look to make Malaga a force to be reckoned within the next few
years. The Spanish club is also rumoured to be on the verge of signing the former Manchester United and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ruud-van-Nistelrooy-c31966, from Bundesliga side Hamburg SV.
