Malaga’s money problems have returned and the issue was highlighted right after the club’s 4-3 victory over the Segunda B side, Cacereno, in the Copa del Rey last 32 first leg on Wednesday.
Malaga boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-c23383 Pellegrini, said that he and his players will meet today to talk about how the issue will be approached.
Malaga’s financial problems came to the attention of many when it was revealed in the summer that the club will not be able to pay wages to its players. This declaration led to the widespread exodus of key players from the club. UEFA also withheld Malaga’s
price money.
All those issues seemed to have been settled as the wealthy Qatari owner of the club pledged to continue investing in the club.
However, new reports suggest the players are not happy with the fact that their wages for the month of October have not arrived yet.
Right after last night’s match, Malaga midfielder, Duda, said the team doesn’t know what they will do and they will just wait to see what happens next.
"We still do not know what we are going to do," http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Duda-c11697 said. "The most important thing is to talk internally, then we will see what might happen. We will decide tomorrow (Thursday)."
Moreover, Pellegrini also commented on this issue and said that they will discuss it further.
"We will talk tomorrow on the subject of the payments," he responded.
The 59-year-old denied suggestions that he fielded a weakened side in last night’s away encounter with the minnows. He defended his formation and said that the most important thing for him was winning the game, which his players managed to do.
"There were rotations and the players responded," Pellegrini said. "There is no reserve team. The pitch was difficult, heavy and the players were slipping around. The most important thing in these types of games is to win and we achieved that. We are on
track to qualify."
Malaga are currently in good form. They are comfortably sitting on the 3rd spot in La Liga while also being unbeaten in the Champions League.
Next match in La Liga, Malaga will host Rayo Vallecano at La Rosaleda on Saturday.
