set.
In the opening set, both sides played with staggering speed and precision and pushed each other in all corners. The pace of rallies was incredibly fast and all contestants put up highly elevated show of top class badminton.
Kien Keat and Boon Heong tried their level best to play positive badminton but they failed to stay confident and committed many errors that helped their challengers to find a good flow. Until the break, they were close on the score board.
After the break, the match progressed in the similar fashion as both pairs employed all of their skills but none of them managed to set up a comfortable lead until the score reached at 20-20.
At this breath-taking stage, V Shem and Khim Wah played with great speed and managed to score two points in a row to bag the opening game with a close margin of 22-20.
In the following set, the underdogs V Shem and Khim Wah continued their positive and aggressive play and remained in a strong position until the end of opening half.
