India’s talented player P. V. Sindhu lived up to the expectations as she advanced into Women’s Singles final after defeating Thailand’s Sapsiree Taerattanachai in semi-final clash of Yonex Sunrise Malaysia Grand Prix Gold 2013 on Friday, May 3, in Malaysia.
The top seeded Sindhu, who remained unbeaten throughout the championship, continued putting up staggering show of top quality badminton and remained successful in winning the semi-final match while taking just 33 minutes.
Sindhu played to her maximum potential in the opening game and managed to win it with a decent margin. In the following set, she got a wonderful flow and ended up the game in a spectacular manner and ended up the match with a spectacular 21-17 and 21-11
score on the board.
On the other hand, the third seeded Sapsiree failed to put up strong show at any stage in this semi-final battle as she committed many mistakes especially in the second game and lost the match without creating a strong impact.
Sindhu showed an amazing aggression on court from the starting rallies of first game by creating a remarkable pressure on her rival. However, she could not establish a considerable lead as her Thai opponent also started to put up strong show.
The top class skills and remarkable speed helped both ladies to stay close in the opening half. Until the mid-game interval, no one could set up a huge lead on the score board.
However, the underdog Sapsiree failed to play positive game after the one-minute break as she lost her focus on court and committed many unforced errors.
On the contrary, the aggressive Sindhu sailed smoothing in the concluding points of opening set as she maintained her focus and managed to end up the game with a 21-17 margin on the board.
In the second set, Sindhu played with superb speed without sparing any opportunity for Sapsiree to get a good flow at any stage.
Until the end of first part, the incredible Sindhu remained consistent in playing with command and variations and stayed ahead on the board.
Sapsiree failed to show strong performance in the second game of this contest as her rival Sindhu played positive badminton and wrapped up the game with a staggering 21-11 score on the board.
