Malaysia loses three final matches in French International 2012 – Badminton News
It was certainly doomsday for Malaysia in the French International Badminton event as their shuttlers could not relish the opportunity and lost three title matches on April 8, 2012.
On judgment day, Malaysian shuttlers Misbun Ramdan Misbun, Sannatasah Saniru and the duo Nelson Heg Wei Keat-Chow Mei Kuan were competing in the Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles and the Mixed Doubles finals respectively but they all failed to rise and faced
straight-set defeats.
Women’s Singles shuttler Sannatasah Saniru started the marathon against the Dutch lady Judith Meulendijks and knelt down in just two games after reading 21-12 and 21-15 score on the board.
The Dutch shuttler did not face any trouble throughout the 30-minute tussle and she hunted down her rival with great ease.
In opening game, Judith Meulendijks launched a swift attack and her opponent Sannatasah Saniru could not stand against her brilliant performance for much long.
She never came out of nine-point deficit and lost first match point with scoreboard flashing 12-21 score in her rival’s favour.
Malaysians showed some character in the second set by putting a decent total of 15 points but it was not enough to stop the Dutch lady from sealing the crown with a significant margin of 21-15.
Meanwhile, the Men’s Singles shuttler Misbun Ramdan also faced the same fate as he got pale in front of the Indian shuttler Anand Pawar in title match.
The Malaysian lad resisted for 34 minutes but his opponent Anand Pawar dominated in most part of the game.
The Indian set the foundation by clinching the first match point with a decent total 21-16 in score log. The second set proved last nail in the coffin as Anand Pawar buried the Malaysian hope with a significant margin of 21-10.
There was sheer disappointment in Mixed Doubles event as well for Malaysia when the duo Nelson Heg Wei Keat-Chow Mei Kuan surrendered against the Dutch couple Peter Kaesbauer-Johanna Goliszewski after just 24 minutes.
The title match was decided in just two games as the Malaysian couple lost the crown with 12-21 and 11-21 score on the board.
Now the Malaysian shuttlers will strive hard to end this losing streak in the Yonex Dutch International which is starting from April 12, 2012.
