Having lost to Bahrain in the Olympic qualifiers on Sunday, Malaysian U23 tactician, Ong Kim Swee, has been left speechless after his side’s stunning downfall.
However, Swee is still confident of qualifying through despite sitting at the bottom of group C.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Malaysia-c2949 played hosts to Bahrain on Sunday, November 27, at Bukit Jalil Stadium with the visitors winning by a 3-2 margin. Nazmi Faiz Mansor and Mahali Jasuli scored the goals for the home side.
Saad Saiah Al-Amer and Isa Ahmed Muthanha staged a remarkable comeback for Peter Taylor’s men.
The home side opened the scoring through Mansor whose smashing volley whizzed into the net, leaving the goalkeepr with absolutely no chance to react.
Jasuli grabbed a rather lucky second goal after a horrendous mistake from the Bahrain shot stopper, putting Malaysia in the driving seat.
With just 10 minutes on the clock remaining, the Red responded through Al-Amer and Muthanha, incredibly leveling the score after staying behind for so long in the game.
Once again, it was Muthanha who earned Bahrain an unlikely and shocking lead with his second goal in the 86th minute.
This deciding goal left the Malaysian manager speechless who certainly was short of words during the post match press conference.
He opined that his team anticipated a win and approached the last 10 minutes rather lightly. The boss reckoned that Bahrain did extremely well to stage a remarkable comeback when they were completely down and out for most part of the game.
While talking to Berita Harian, the boss further mentioned:
“I really do not know what to say. It was a crazy six minutes and everything changed in that small period of time. This result really puts a dent in our qualification hopes. It's definitely a bitter match but I hope we can use it as a lesson for future matches,"
This loss has put the Malayan http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tigers-c40730 in danger of being eliminated. However, Swee urged his players not to be complacent at any stage of the tournament and give their hundred percent in the remaining games.
"I think we still have a slight chance of making it through, but we will have to be at our best in the following games.” The coach concluded.
