Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei promises his fans to give hundred percent at London Olympics
Malaysia’s ace shuttler Lee Chong Wei, who has made a fast recovery from his ankle injury, promised his fans to give his best shot at the 2012 London Olympics, which is in progress at London, England.
The spirited Chong Wei, who is number two in Men’s Singles world ranking, remained away from the arena for a period of almost two months and during that period he has been putting in his best effort to recuperate from his severe ankle injury and is now completely fit to put up a good show at the mega event.
The 29-year-old Chong Wei has been working hard in training sessions to get his rhythm back ahead of Olympics and has made it and is now ready to shine at Wembley Arena.
However, it is quite difficult to say that he has got rid of the feel of injury in his mind and also is not easy to avoid a notion of getting injured again.
But according to many, Chong Wei will overcome all of his hurdles as he is known for his unmatched fighting spirit and will live up to expectations.
While talking about his feeling about competing in the mega event, Chong Wei said that he will give his best for his country mates.
He stated, “I will do my best to deliver for Malaysia, that is my promise to all Malaysians.”
He further added, “I will respect all the opponents and everyone has qualified on merit. It will be one match at a time and I don’t even want to talk about my potential opponents. The thought that I might not play in the Olympics did cross my mind after the injury. I am glad to be back in training and getting better every day.”
He also expressed that he has been doing well in training sessions at Bath for the last ten days and is looking forward to play well in the mega event.
Chong Wei’s first opponent in Men’s Singles category will be Finland’s talented shuttler Ville Lang.
If things proceed according to the plan, the Malaysian will be facing Chen Long of China in the semi-final clash which will be the real test for Chong Wei after recovering from injury.
