Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei vows to put up a great show in the Indonesia Open Premier Super Series
Malaysia’s ace player, Lee Chong Wei, is confident to put up a great show in the Indonesia Open Premier Super Series 2011, which will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from June 21-26.
The 28-year-old Malaysian will defend his Men’s Singles title in the Indonesia Open, where he will face the best athletes from different countries including China, Indonesia, Denmark and South Korea.
Chong Wei, who is the world’s top shuttler in the world rankings, is currently working hard in his training sessions. He will play the Indonesia Open for gaining momentum for the World Badminton Championships 2011, which will kick-off in London, on August
8.
The Malaysian expressed that the Indonesia Open will be a good event to get warm-up for the mega event which is just two months away.
The Indonesia Open is a premier super series championship and the Badminton World Federation (BWF) has made it mandatory for the top ten shuttlers in each category to participate in the premier super series events.
While talking about the top shuttlers in the Indonesia Open, Chong Wei said, “All the world championship hopefuls will be there.”
The Malaysian ace was confident about his game and addded, “I am prepared to meet anyone in Jakarta. My target is to retain the title to put me in the right mood for the world championships.”
The World Number One has clinched five Men’s Singles titles in this year including the All England Open Premier Super Series 2011, where he defeated his arch-rival, Lin Dan of China in straight-sets.
If the Malaysian remains successful in winning the Men’s Singles crown in the Indonesia Open, it will be his sixth title in the current year. He is in terrific form at the moment and wants to continue it in the upcoming events including the World Championships.
In the Indonesia Open, all top shuttlers including the World Number Two, Lin Dan, World Number three, Taufik Hidayat of Indonesia and the World Number Five, Denmark’s Peter Hoeg Gade will be there in Jakarta to win the Men’s Singles title which will boost
their confidence for the World Championships.
