Malaysia’s Mohd Zakry-Mohd Tazari earn glory in Chinese Taipei Open as independent shuttlers
Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif and Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari, the two experienced shuttlers from Malaysia, showed their tremendous craft on court and remained successful in earning glory by grabbing the Men’s Doubles title at the Chinese Taipei Open Grand Prix
Gold 2012 in Chinese Taipei, last week.
The World Number 27 Mohd Zakry and Mohd Tazari left Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) and started to play from the famous badminton club of Malaysia named KLRC as independent shuttlers.
The critics of Mohd Zakry and Mohd Tazari had to bite the dust as both shuttlers delivered a phenomenal performance in the Chinese Taipei Open and proved their superiority in the arena by beating all of their challengers to grab the title in an inspiring
fashion.
Mohd Zakry and Mohd Tazari, who were seeded at number two in Men’s Doubles main draw of the championship, put up remarkable show throughout the competition and they did not even lose even a single game to any of their opponents proving that they are in good
shape and are at the top of their game.
Being second seeds, Malaysian shuttler got bye in the Men’s Singles first round and their first battle came into the second round against the local opponents Chia Yu Lin and Chia Min Wang who were having the support of home crowd.
The in-form Mohd Zakry and Mohd Tazari played with impressive control while remaining calm and composed on court and they did not show any mercy to their Taipei challengers throughout the battle. Malaysian duo remained on track in the whole second round
contest and remained successful in winning it with a huge margin in straight games.
In the men’s Doubles quarter-final of the tournament, Mohd Zakry and Mohd Tazari were up against Hong Kong’s talented shuttlers Tsz Kit Chan and Lok Kei Lo who were also in tremendous form. They did not take much time in controlling the pace of rallies and
they managed to stay in command in the whole battle.
Second seeded Mohd Zakry and Mohd Tazari did not show any mercy to their Hong Kong challengers and played attacking and controlled badminton all the way to grab the set with a completely dominating fashion in straight sets.
The higher ranked Malaysian players were up against their local challengers Hung Ling Chen and Chia Bin Lu in the Men’s Doubles semi-final clash. However, they did not take pressure of playing against the pair that had a considerable support of home crowd.
Mohd Zakry and Mohd Tazari stayed ahead all the way in both games against their local rivals and they easily managed to end up the semi-final contest in a dominating fashion in straight games with a crushing margin of score board.
In the title match of the event, the in-form Malaysian players locked horns against Angga Pratama and Ryan Agung Saputra of Indonesia who were the top seeded players in the tournament. They played remarkable badminton without taking any pressure of their
higher ranked challengers and won the final battle in a staggering fashion as they ended it up in straight sets.
The lofty Mohd Zakry and Mohd Tazari proved that they are best in business at the moment and despite leaving the national set up they still are capable of spoiling the party of top shuttlers in the world of badminton.
