Malaysia’s Ng h*i Lin and Ng h*i Ern eye glory at the 2011 World Championships - Badminton news
Malaysia’s young and talented sisters, Ng h*i Lin and Ng h*i Ern, are eyeing to earn glory in the Women’s Doubles category of the 2011 World Championships, which will kick-off at the Wembley Arena, in England, on August 8.
Both sisters have been delivering a tremendous performance by playing wonderful badminton for the last six months of this year. Both have the potential to beat any pair of the world on a given day, as they have attained a certain level of skill and expertise.
Presently, the duo is working hard in their training sessions at the University of Bath in England, as the whole Malaysian squad is attending the training camp before the world meet.
In the Women’s Doubles draw of the World Championships, the Malaysian duo will open their campaign against Elena Prus and Anna Kobceva of Ukraine in the first round of the event. The Malaysian’s are expected to win the opening fight without digging deep
into their reserves.
However, their real test will start from the second round when they will meet Japan’s Ayaka Takahashi and Matsutomo Misaki. If the sisters manage to win the second round, then they will face another Japanese pair of Satoko Suetsuna and Miyuki Maeda in the
next round.
While talking about their matches against the Japanese shuttlers, h*i Lin said, “I don’t like playing against Japanese players. They are good at long rallies and it can be quite tiring to keep up with them. You need tonnes of patience to keep pace.”
She further added, “My sister and I have a chance to get past the Ukranians in the first round. Our first real challenge should be against Matsutomo and Ayaka in the second round. We lost to them at the Australian Open this year.”
Discussing about their future plans, h*i Lin said that their major goal is to become the top seeds in the Women’s Doubles category and also to be a worthy substitute to the current top seed, Chin Eei h*i and Wong Pei Tty.
