Malden Louis leads the way to victory in A2 race at Nottingham
The Nottingham Greyhound Stadium in Nottingham is a place where champions are made in every 500m race. Malden Louis was one of the most recent champions, as she claimed the top spot in
an exciting A2 race held on Tuesday 23 November.
Coming out of trap two, Malden Louis always led the pack. The 5-2 favourite raced on to a 30.69 finish that gave her first place. A distance of three lengths separated first place from
second, as Faypoint Boy (7-2) crowded third on the way to a second-place finish in 30.93
Spaceman Lee’s (7-2) orbit was disrupted a bit after he crowded third. However, he bounced back to finish a single length out of the number two spot with a time of 31.01. Fourth place
was claimed by Tanglewood Tagg (5-1), who crowded both second and third. He went on to finish in 31.05, which placed him a ½ length out of the top three.
Rivermist Sophie (5-1) crowded fourth, but had an otherwise unobstructed race. She took fifth place in 31.06, a head’s length behind Tanglewood Tagg. Bringing up the rear was last-place
finisher Rock It Luanchlo (4-1). She lost two lengths after crowding second and third, resulting in a 31.22 finish.
Another champion was crowned later on as 6-4 favourite Albans Hawk won the first of two A3 races on the schedule. A strong start from trap two allowed her to lead at the first bend, and
that was all she needed to earn the win in 30.46. The Other Nikki (5-1) crowded second, losing 3¾ lengths as a result. She went on to complete the race in 30.76, earning second place.
In Person (4-1) placed third after crowding first. He finished 3 lengths behind The Other Nikki with a time of 31.00. Windgap Lady (5-1) was the fourth-place finisher, checking in with
a time of 31.28 after crowding first. She was 3½ lengths out of top-three contention.
Dunham Cooke (7-2) crowded second, third, and the run in, losing 3 lengths in the process. She crossed the finish line in fifth place with a time of 31.52. The sixth and final position
was claimed by Zacharius Corey (4-1). She experienced some difficulty in this race, as she crowded the first bend and the run in. Her finishing time of 31.78 placed her 3¼ lengths out of fifth place.
Nottingham Greyhound Stadium will host its next race meeting on Friday 26 November. The action begins with an A6 race at 18:28.
