Maldives v Oman – Asian Cricket Council Trophy Elite 2012 (Group A) – Match Update
Two half-tons, from Zeeshan Maqsood and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Amir-Ali-c43991, followed by a 4-wicket haul by Khalid Rasheed, saw Oman claiming a 123-run win over Maldives in their Group A match, during the ongoing Asian Cricket Council Trophy Elite 2012, played at the Al Dhaid Cricket
Village today on October 9.
Oman won the toss and elected to bat first, and the efforts of Maldives skipper Moosa Kaleem (10-2-19-3) went in vain, as the team posted a sizeable final total of 225 by the end of 50 overs.
Opener http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Vaibhav-Shridhar-Wategaonkar-c94848 (27) for a 41-run stand.
Maqsood and Wategaonkar were both sent packing by Moosa Kaleem, while http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sultan-Ahmed-c91760 (43*)
and Amir Ali (54*) saw http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Oman-c2975 posting a substantial final total of 225 by the end of 50 overs, with just 6 wickets down.
Oman then followed up their batting with a concentrated bowling attack, led by Khalid Rasheed (10-2-34-4), Zeeshan Siddiqui (2-0-12-3), and Aamir Kaleem (4-1-19-2), all of whom ensured that Maldives were restricted, all out, to 102, by the 26th
over of their innings, with only four batsmen managing double figures.
Openers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-c89347 and wicketkeeper batsman Shafraz Jaleel were both dismissed on duck, and while skipper Moosa Kaleem (34), coming in at number 3, top-scored for the side, Mohamed Rishwan (1) and Mohamed Azzam (5) were unable to contribute much.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ismail-c64603 Nihad (17) were the last
two batsmen who managed to contribute double-digit scores, but the team was eventually unable to stand up to the challenge, and were reduced, all out, to 102 by the end of 26 overs, with Oman going on to claim a 123-run win.
