Male ball python?

Question

i have an 8 month old male ball python, Monty ,pure bred, he is 1.5 feet long. how big will he most likely get? how big should his tank be? the tank he has now is about 3ft x 1ft 6in will i need to get a bigger tank?

A male ball python will likely grow to 4 feet long, I would recommend a 40-50 gallon tank, but not any smaller than 40gallons because it could get crammed and u dont want that..good luck!!

The biggest ball iv ever seen was 71/2 feet but that was huge...he was also very obese. The average usually is about 5 ft but you will definately need a bigger cage the sooner you get him a bigger home the faster he will start growing...it also depends on how much and how often you feed him.

Hello; the average for a male Ball python is three to four feet at maturity. Heck; my twelve year old male is only three feet long. ;)

As far as tank size goes; when you said 3 feet by 18 inches; are those dimensions in length/depth or length/height? If it is in length/depth then that sounds like a 40 gallon breeder and will work just fine for your Ball python for its entire life. If it is in length/height, then depending on the depth; it should still be fine but if when Monty nears adulthood you notice that he doesn't have enough room to move around properly; I would recommend upgrading him to a larger terrarium. :)

if he is male, he can get about 4ft. female, 5ft. a 20 gal is an absolute min but i have mine in a 40.  dats a good tank fo its life. just give it lots to climb. good luck.
