Question:

Male betta fish turning black at the end of back fin, and little blue b/t ventral fin?!?!?

hey everyone :D

my male betta fish is growing a LITTLE black(right after the red) at the end of the fins of his back fins and a blue of a bright blue in b/t his ventral or where he craps out of. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO HIM ?!? is he changing colors or something?

  1. im pretty sure nothing is wrong, it might just be your food, some bring out there colors, it happens with my fish to. just dont worry =)


  2. Your fish has a chemical/ammonia burn. What this means is that the fish was exposed to too much ammonia, nitrates, and/or chlorine in the tank. The black on him is actually very good. This means he is healing himself. Think of it as a bruise on a human. You should just do a 25-50% water change and use the requested amount of conditioner. Repeat this process the next day, then just wait. It should clear up by a week max. Just continue this process every 1 1/2- 2 weeks and your betta will have a much less chance of getting ammonia burn.
