Question:

Male cats passing urine: What to do between now and the Vet?

I know, I know, to the Vet, ASAP. I only found out recently, seeing as my mom decided to tell me only NOW after apparently she's been seeing him pass blood. He's been showing the obvious symptoms, but unfortunately I can't get him to the vet, it's late at night.

So, I'm skipping out on tomorrow's plans and dedicating it to my kitten. I'd say he's been bleeding for a day or two, three days at most, with today being the heaviest bleeding so far. Any suggestions what to do between now and tomorrow's vet appointment?

Please please, answer quickly. I love my Ken to bits and he's still so young too. 4 months old, if it helps.

  1. not alot you can do.. do you mean bleeding from a wound or blood in his urine..

if it is blood in the urine then at least he is still urinating and his bladder isnt blocked yet (this is very serious but the cat will live untill you can get to the vet the disease is FLUTD (Feline lower urinary tract disease)

if he is bleeding from a wound then just put pressure on it to stop it from bleeding untill you get to the vet

  2. Keep him warm comfortable and hydrated as much as possible. Check you phone book some larger cities have 24 hour er vets.
