Male doppelganger?

Question

Doppelgangers are supposed to look exactly like you (that's what I heard) so why would mine be a guy? I saw it when my mom and dad were fighting one day when I was younger (I'm currently 16). I felt like I couldn't move and then I saw myself (as a guy) in the kitchen holding a knife. I actually felt like I was holding one. What does that mean? A male doppelganger? Thanks for reading.

l couldn't say for sure what it was you saw but it could be one of your past lives. You could be a boy from a recent past life.

I have never seen a doppelganger..I am thinking that in your case, you were a child and in your mind you wanted the violence to stop and you projected an image of someone stronger than yourself(a male) to make it stop.  I am sure it was real to you and in a sense it was, but nothing paranormal in that case.

I think it's not a doppelganger maybe the ability of your mind look for the Internet about mental telepathy or psychic ability or related to that.

Doppelganger is German for 'double walker '. It means a ghostly or sometimes even physical double of a living person. If you see your own doppelganger it is said to be an omen of death, if a friend or family member se it it is thought to mean that there is something bad about to happen or there will be ill health.

In folklore they cast no shadow and do not have reflections, and are said to give advice to the person, but this can sometimes be misleading.

One case of a doppelganger was Queen Elizabeth I of England, she saw herself lying on her bed, the Queen died not to long after this happened.

To some, doppelgangers are just fiction, to others they really do believe that the phenomenon really does exist.

It's called disassociation and it sounds like it may have occurred due to stress you were experiencing from being around your parents fighting, it could have been your brain's way of coping with that trauma.  If you've had similar experiences since then you should probably talk to your physician or seek therapy to resolve any issues you are still dealing with from your childhood.

It means, in a nutshell; You were hurt, traumatized. It is up to you to decide if it was a paranormal phenomena or a mental defense. My question is why is it bothering you now?

Why did you assume that it was a Doppleganger? It could be an imprint of someone that was in your kitchen years before and you picked up on that when the same energy re-occured

or you might have a past life memory or may be you just reached into dads mind.... it sounds like anything but a doppleganger or or reincarnation incident

I have heard of this phenomena once before. I cant remember what its called, but it was discovered when trying to treat eptileptic patients.

The mind creates a mirror image of itself that the person honestly believes is there and is immitating them.

I suppose its only one step further to fill in the gaps with peices of information, such as gender.

Its not real, but interesting, and if it happens often, it might be worth talking to a doctor about it.

Another possible cause could be narcilepsy. The paralysis suggests this, although the paralysis could have just been fear.

You may of had a past life flash back.  Or you may have felt that you wanted to be more powerful to protect your mother and manifested an image of your self as a man to confront your dad.  This is likely the best defense your mind could come up with at the time.  I suspect your dad may have smacked you or your mother around.  This is how one deals with a subject that the mind can't handle.  I blocked out things from my childhood that I could not handle, it just went away.  This is most likely not paranormal, just fear response.

I cant place the psychological term for seeing yourself somewhere else, but I know there is a term for this. you were possibly seeing yourself as a male because that would give you more physical strength, that is how I see it but maybe I am wrong. I would like to know the medical term for what I described here so if anyone knows I would like to know it as well.
