Question:

Male shaving pubic region, getting rid of red bumps?

I have decided to start shaving my groin area, not completely just cleaning it up so the pubic hair region is not the size of a dinner plate and it has caused red bumps to appear which are very unattractive. A girlfriend of mine said that when you first start that happens and it goes away after shaving it for a while. I would like to know how long that time is, say a week or two? or is it a month.. just for extra information, I'm using a two blade razor in the shower with no shaving cream. and I'm going against the grain, if that makes any difference.

  1. This may sting your masculine side, but those bumps are ingrown hairs! The best thing for them is to use a body scrub with exfoliating beads before you shave. It clears away dead skin and raises hair. And please go with the grain!!! OUCH!!!

  2. Yeah, what he said.

  3. after shaving always use a lotion that helps stop the bumps..... I also use baby powder... that helps with the razor burn and the itch as the hair grows back.  I shave it all and I never get bumps when I use a lotiona after done shaving.

  4. Use an electric razor only. That will pretty much eliminate bumps.Thoroughly powder the area before as well,it will help the razor glide over it.I've done it for yrs. It's the best way.

  5. use shaving cream and

GO WITH THE GRAIN FOR CHRISTS SAKE

it wont get as close, but it wont get irritated, and it wont hurt.

  6. OMG!? did that hurt?!? lol go with the grain nd if ur not using electric use shave cream or something and if u do it like that it should go away in a week maybe more..
