im taming a female cat for abt a week now and its going well, however today i saw she was l*****g her upper arm and found out she was injured, i couldnt examine it (she doesnt let me touch her yet) but it doesnt look serious as she doesnt limp and there is only little blood, anyway, today there was this big male cat with her, and he was badly injured! one of his eyes were injured but he could open it and i tink see, anyway the big cat kept scaring the female and even ate the food i brought her(i brought a secound serving he ate it too then i opened a can of tuna and split it in half for them) and the cat would approch me very confidently when he smells the fish shich scared me! cause no stray cat ever did that and i was afraid he was going to hurt me,,he also meows everytime i get near, its like a firm meow!

my question is , is he really trying to hurt me? and next time he scares the female should i stop him or scare him off to protect the female and have her trust me?or will she be scared off as well?

  1. male is not a stray. just belongs to an irresponsible pet owner. he has no fear of humans, and know they will feed him.also possible he was just recently abandoned.

you need to stop feeding him, he will keep coming around. and you need top get her fixed.

he comes for the women, but stays for the food.

you could catch him, notify shelters and put an ad in the paper. if no one claims him, bring him to the vet for treatment and neutering. then let him loose again.

or, find a shelter to take him.

  2. I would let the male cat approach you but dont pet it or put you r hand by him. He might have rabiese. Keep the female away from the male. Try to feed them in seprate places. Keep playing with the female and try to earn her trust. Good Luck!!!

  3. I think it is great that you are trying to help stray cats.  You should be very careful about being injured by a cat that is not used to being with humans.  I am not sure how old you are .. do your parents know what you are doing?  if you should be scratched or bitten you would need to get a shot and animal control would probably want to have the animal that bit/scratched you.  There seem to be a lot of stray cats in your area.  If you keep feeding them they may soon be more of them and it could be a real problem for the neighberhood.  Fights, noise, and damage to property might result.  What happens to cats after you tame them?  How many cats do you have?  What do your parents say about the cats?  I hope everything turns out ok for you.
