Malekov to look out for Suzi’s A Class Act in the Bathwick Tyres “Season Finale” Handicap
Twelve have cemented their way to the Class 3 Bathwick Tyres “Season Finale” Handicap. The mile, six furlong and 21 yard race promises the winner £6,663 prize money on Monday, 15th October, 2012 at Salisbury race course. Each of the candidates has made it this far by accumulating experience at different levels.
In the spotlight of the race three-year-old bay colt, Malekov, who is unbeaten in two out of the three career outings, each one was at a different race course.
The Sir Henry Cecil trained lost the first asking of the maiden to the sixth position in the Wt’s Snooker And Sporting Club Maiden Stakes on 11th August, 2012 at Newmarket over a mile and four furlongs.
He was ridden by, Ian Mongan.
The Irish bay colt had his second seasonal outing in the Sydenhams Maiden Stakes on 6th September, 2012 at Salisbury over a mile and four furlongs.
Malekov was paired up with jockey, Tom Queally. The three-year-old took his time to settle in pace by staying in the rear for nearly more than half the track distance. He came into the attention frame when the final three furlongs were on the horizon.
His true battle began inside the final furlong where his chances of success were suffocated by the favourite entry of the race, Harlestone Wood, who was left adrift by a head’s margin.
Breaking the maiden had him becoming the part of the line-up of the “Moulton Nurseries” Handicap on 18th September, 2012 at Yarmouth race course over a mile and six furlongs.
Once again coupled with the world class jockey, Tom Queally, he reserved the energy in the rear, and burst into speed only at the concluding stages of the race. He stayed strong in the face of challenge, and was able to defeat Suzi’s A Class Act by a length’s mark.
The two are to collide yet again today.
The 11 to 4 entry retains the same jockey, and the two will break from the first gate.
He will need to look out for the 7 to 1 shot for the race, Suzi’s A Class Act, who will ride with, Adam Beschizza, and has drawn the eleventh stall.
