Is it true that now days males and females are in the same platoon and training together in the US Army? Or are they separated and trained separately?

  1. Separate platoons, separate dorms, some training might be together but you'll be lucky if you see another person of the opposite s*x up close.

  2. They train together but they bathe and sleep in separate areas.  The only time you might see males and females sleep in the same area is during war or in the field; although they are usually in separate tents if the situation allows.  It's doubtful we'll ever get to the level of cohesion in Starship Troopers anytime soon with the threat of sexual harassment or assault.

  3. In the Army (Navy and Airforce) basic training is done in a co-ed environment.  They do not, however, sleep or shower together.

Also, anyone in an AIT school that isn't Infantry, Artillery, or Armor, stands a near 100% chance of having a co-ed school.  Again, you will not live in mixed gender rooms/squad bays, but you will go to school together, PT together, and all that.

The Marine Corps is the only service that still does it the right way!

    Ooooorah!

    Hope this helps!

  4. They are trained together in the army.

  5. in the army, with non-combat arms MOSs, males and females are trained together.  they have separate sleeping quarters and then they go to their platoons for first formation.  but be forewarned, i strongly discourage trying any "funny business" with any members of the opposite s*x.  I'm not saying that's whats on you're mind but just so you know that is big, big trouble.

  6. Depends where you go.

But for the most part yes they are in the same platoons and train together.  During the field everyone sleep in one tent.  During deployments and in the rear they try to have females on one wing of the floor.

  7. That is true for any Non-combat MOS in the army. Men and women train together.

Get caught being too together and you will be punished.

A few drill sergeants have lost thier jobs that way.
