Palma-based outfit dominated the opening proceedings as Osasuna looked content pegged back in their own half. However, Joaquin Caparros’ men were unfortunate at the end of the first half, going behind after Alvaro Cujedo scored a goal against the run of
play.
However, former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 U21 star, Emiliano Nsue, brought the hosts to level footing in the 71st minute. The 68th-minute substitute headed home a right-wing corner to setup a heated end to the league fixture.
Joaquin Caparros was unhappy at the final result of the fixture and reflected his opinions in the post-match conference. The former Athletic Bilbao manager stated that his side were better for majority of the match and should have gotten a favourable result
at the Iberostar.
However, the experienced manager was pleased with Nsue’s performance on the night and praised him for his attitude on and off the bench.
“We failed to up the tempo in the first half and Osasuna’s goal came about precisely for that reason,” he explained. “In the second half we had more pace but lacked that bit of luck, but I was glad when Nsue’s goal went in.”
"Nsue gave explanations to his peers and I believe him because this squad is very united and very noble. His attitude has been ten, and I think he is always the professional, "he stated.
Osasuna coach, Jose Luis Mendilibar, was content with the final result that inched the Pamplona-based outfit closer to their European ambitions.
While analyzing the match, Mendilibar played down claims by Caparros and stated that an ugly midfield performance by both sides could not have led to finer pasture.
“It was a good draw in a game with many fouls in midfield, without rhythm, and where it was not easy to play,” he said. Both sides played a lot of long balls but I can’t fault my players for effort.”
While Osasuna consolidate themselves in the top-half of La Liga, Mallorca have survival fight on their hands. Els Barralets are two points adrift of relegation slots and currently occupy 14th place in Primera Division rankings.
