Could http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/RCD-Mallorca-c40326 have a winning chance this season? It seems as though the Majorca-based club may cause a few problems for some of the bigger La Liga teams.
When it comes to individual players, Los Bermellones have nothing to boast about. With hardly any world class footballers, it seems as though they will never be able to catch up to the ranks of Real Madrid or Barcelona.
However, when it comes to playing as a team, the club can produce some of the most phenomenal football one has ever seen, all thanks to their coach, Joaquin Caparros.
After winning their second home game of the season, Mallorca were at the top of the league table, only to be brought down to second place after Barcelona beat http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863, putting the Catalans up top.
However, with Real Madrid nowhere close to the top, it seems like Los Bermellones may have a shot.
Mallorca did have a bit of luck in their match against Real Sociedad, Hemed and Victor did play well, but they did not get as many chances as they would have liked.
The match could easily have ended in a draw, and Mallorca need to be ready to face such results if they want to last this season. Not all matches will produce the perfect chance, for the perfect striker.
With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Giovani-dos-Santos-c14983 being brought in from Tottenham, Los Bermellones do have a better chance of performing well this this time round. However, only time can tell whether the new recruit is going to live up to his expectations.
Helping Giovani in midfield we have Michael Pereira. With the Frenchman’s flair and exciting game-play, there is no doubt he will serve Mallorca well this season.
Apart from the usual goal-scorers, Mallorca’s defence seems to be holding up quite well as well.
Antonio Lopez and Ximo made sure that Sociedad do not score a goal, and are also expected to do well this season.
Even the new signing, Anderson Conceicao, proved he was worth every penny, by saving Los Bermellones from a defeat in his debut match with a goal-line save.
Bring in Tomas Pina and you have yourself a brick wall stopping any striker dead in his footsteps.
However, Mallorca should not get too comfortable as their next match is against Osasuna, who, due to their uncomfortable position of being last in the league table, are more determined than ever for a win.
With teams such as Barcelona finding it difficult to play at El Sadar, Mallorca have to be ready for a tough match, filled with counter-attacking performance by a desperate team.
However, it’s too early to give a determined analysis of Mallorca’s performance this season. However, with the way they’ve started off, Mallorca have surprised La Liga fans, and it would be quite enjoyable to see them continue playing the way they are.
