Malmo versus Rangers – UEFA Champions League qualification: Second leg – Second half (Part 2)

with his elbow into an aerial challenge.
The referee spotted this dangerous play and deservedly punished the right back with a red card. Down to nine men but leading the home team by a goal to nil, Rangers sat back and defended for their lives for the rest of the second
half. In the 70th minute, Dardan was replaced by Jeffrey Aubeyn for Malmo as the second half substitute was injured due to Bougherra’s elbow smashing into the side of his head.

In the 81st minute, Malmo finally equalized thanks to a brilliant volley by Hamad. After Larsson spurned the opening chance from a corner kick, Hamad produced a fantastic volley from the edge of the Rangers penalty area
as the loose ball fell kindly for him. With a draw on the cards as the score line lay at rest at 1-1, Malmo decided to play the rest of the game out by holding onto the ball. The match thus eventually came to a close with an aggregate win for Malmo, as they
gained a 2-1 win over the two legs after winning the first leg in Glasgow by a goal to one and then drawing the second leg.
