Malorie Blackman's Noughts and Crosses trilogy?

Question

In the first book the atmosphere is mainly love, in the second book the atmosphere is mainly hatred, in the third book the atmosphere is mixed.

Why has the author done this?

Not sure but the 4th comes out in november. called double cross

Probably to better show the depth and journey of Sephy's character, as well as her different relationships.

It also shows how she falls for, and then grieves for Callum, and how she moves on from this relationship.
