Malouda thanks Ancelotti for his fine form
Florent Malouda, the Chelsea midfielder, has said that he is in ‘the best form of his life’ and credited his manager Carlo Ancelotti for his ever improving form for the Blues.
Upon his arrival at Stamford Bridge Malouda failed to impress, he was a big money transfer but the impact of his move was not felt. The Frenchman arrived from Olympique Lyonnais in the Mourinho era but it was not until the arrival of Ancelotti from AC Milan
that the midfielder showed his true potential.
Last season Chelsea broke countless records on their way to winning the double; the English Premier League and the FA Cup, and Malouda was an essential to the Blues’ success. The Frenchman scored 15 goals last season and set up countless goals for the golden
boot winner Didier Drogba.
Malouda said while talking to reporters, “Ancelotti has allowed me to reach a new level. He gave me responsibility and I believe he has appreciated me. I had some frank talks with him - and that's how a special relationship was born.” There is no doubt that
Malouda has flourished under the Italian manager, from being a useless, unwanted substitute on the bench, Malouda now forms the starting 11.
The Frenchman was full of praise for Ancelotti, he added, "Last year we experienced a difficult week after our Champions League elimination. We lost to Manchester City and Manchester United was ahead of us so everything could have changed. We needed a boss,
a leader, and that is exactly what he was. People talk about Mourinho but it is the very first time Chelsea have won the Double. Ancelotti entered history."
Malouda was confident about the Champions League, the French captain was certain that they were a better side this season, having learnt from their past failures. He said, “We haven't won the Champions League yet and you could see that as a disappointment,
but we have been the steadier team for several years. Each year we've lost against the eventual winner. We know we have the potential to win the title.”
Malouda has settled at Stamford Bridge and revealed that he would like to end his career there. Even though he did not fit in at first, he is an important part of the current team and it does not seem like he’s going to go anywhere any time soon. “It is
a slow improvement that didn't come in one day. I believe I am in the best form of my whole life at the moment and at the right club. I feel I have blossomed perfectly, even if I believe I am not at my very best yet. Even if I would be offered a better contract
somewhere else, I don't think I would be happy so I wouldn't go.”
Chelsea have been doing tremendously well this season and this is despite the fact that Frank Lampard, the savior of the side, who has been the lynch pin to Chelsea being as good as they have been in recent years. What this goes to show is that Chelsea are
no longer a one or two person team, but in fact they are now in simple words a team, a team that can go on and break records and win countless titles. Some might argue that Chelsea don’t have any history, however what Chelsea do have, is a future and that
is something that most teams can’t really boast about.
So far Chelsea have managed to get eighteen points off of the twenty one point’s that were up for grabs so far. They are currently on top of the Premier League points table and are four points clear of their nearest rivals. Most people to find it safe to
say that Chelsea are already on course to retaining their Premiership Crown this season.
