Malt-o-Meal Help? ?

My grandma makes AMAZING malt-o-meal, but it seems that even though I make it the same way as her mine is always gross. By the time I get it to taste half decent, it's cold and I no longer want it!

I know she does the half milk half water, and also adds some butter and sugar. If you add these ingredients, what proportions do you use?

Any other common household ingredients I should add?

  1. You need to watch her and take notes.

    I'd add cinnamon, maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice, cardamom, pepper. Diced cheese is quite good too! But not everything all at once!
