Philippines’ Malvinne Ann Alcala will meet Gelita Castilo in the Women’s Singles final showdown, as both females have won their semi-final matches in the 2011 MVP Sports Foundation
– Bingo Bonanza event, held at Bacolod City, Philippines, on Saturday, June 4.
In the semi-final fights, Malvinne Alcala hammered the third seed, Danica Bolos in two games of 25 minutes, whereas, Gelita crushed Pauline Angelica Ramos in straight-sets by
taking only 30 minutes.
Malvinne Alcala played incredible badminton against Danica and proved that she is prepared to win the Women’s Singles crown in the championship. Right from the opening set of
the game, she played quality badminton without making any mistakes.
Danica struggled hard to find her momentum and she failed to produce the required performance against Alcala, who clinched the opening game without showing any mercy to the opponent
by a superb difference of 21-11, in only 14 minutes.
Alcala continued playing remarkable badminton in the second game. Danica was completely helpless against the perfect play of her rival. Malvinne Alcala completed the second set
in only 11 minutes by a one-sided difference of 21-9. The end result of the 25-minute contest was 21-11 and 21-9.
In the other semi-final match in the Women’s Singles category, Gelita, who is the second seed in the event, crushed Angelica Ramos, who could not even resist against the aggression
her firing opponent. Gelita took a little time in the opening phase of the set. As soon as got familiar with the conditions of the court, she found no difficulty at all in winning the opening set with a stunning difference of 21-5 and a court-time of 16 minutes.
Ramos tried to control the speed of the rallies in the second-set, but she completely failed to stop the impressive run of her opponent in the match. Gelita just spent 14 minutes
in the second-set and grabbed it in impressive fashion, with a 21-6 score. The match finished in 30 minutes with a 21-5 and 21-6 score on the board.
