The Paris Saint-Germain defender has been hotly linked with a move away from Parc des Princes following the arrival of Thiago Silva. However, the France international wants to stay at the club to fight for his place
On July 4, while talking to L’Equipe correspondents, Paris Saint-Germain defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mamadou-Sakho-c23293 said that he will seriously consider leaving the capital club if a defender comes. The Frenchman added that he will be open to proposals from other clubs who
can offer him considerable amount of game-time.
“If a defender comes, I’ll do anything to leave because I have to think about my future. My goal this season is to play, to start for a club. I will be open to proposals from clubs willing to give me playing time and allow me to continue my progress.”
However, a month later, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international has apparently changed his mind. While talking to the same sports daily, the defender’s agent has hinted that his client prefers to fight for his place at the Ile club.
A few weeks back, PSG formalised the transfer of Brazil international, Thiago Silva from AC Milan. The 27-year-old’s arrival put Sakho’s place in the starting XI in jeopardy but now, the Frenchman wants to stay at the club.
Encourage by a good preparation and good relations with his coach (Carlo Ancelotti), along with good outings during the preseason games, the product of PSG’s academy has decided to stay at the club for one more season and fight for a place in the starting
XI.
The likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and Newcastle United were keen on signing the 22-year-old. Despite so many clubs vying for his signature, the Paris-born player has chosen to stay at the club.
Furthermore, new signing, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 on the other hand, is not in a perfect physical condition meaning that Sakho will have enough opportunities
to prove his worth to Carlo Ancelotti at the start of the campaign.
The challenge is certainly a big one for Sakho but if he manages to do well, he could be Ancelotti’s preferred partner for Silva.
