  1. i have a friend that has a mamiya, hers has a digital back on it and she can change over to film if she wants to because she still has the other part...all i know about it is that it is a very expensive camera and she won't let anyone touch it. (aparently someone in airport security broke it apart over thier knee to see if it was a bomb...ofcourse they then had a "situation" when she went a little ballistic)

  2. Yes, the one in picture is a 50mm 1:1.7 lens.

The E/EF mount is Mamiya specific. I don't know if there are third party lenses in that mount (most probably there are).

Quality of both body and lenses by Mamiya have a good reputation. I would regard an 1:1.7 as one of the faster lenses.

I read somewhere that there was also an E/EF to M42 adapter by Mamiya which allows the use of older Sekor lenses and other brands which use the M42 s***w mount on the Z-series bodies.

The other poster mentioning a digital back certainly refers to a Mamyia medium format camera - those are really expensive and I can understand why there was a situation at the airport ;-)

  3. Yeah, it looks like it says 1:1.7.  I don't know about this camera, but I remember that in the 1970 era, the Mamiya 1000 SLR had s***w mount lenses, but this one appears to have a bayonette.

Search on Mamiya-Sekor (not Sekar) and you might find more information.

  4. I inherited one very similar to this from my great uncle a couple of years ago. I think it is an older model though. Mine works great. Unfortunately I don't know much about it. I have used it a few times just playing around but it usually sits on the shelf. I found this entry on camerapedia about it though.
