We decided on Tahoe, now she thinks maybe Mammoth. Haven't been to either area, both mid-advance riders normally stick to CO. (Breckenridge, WinterPark, are two of our favorite)

  1. i have been to both and worked at mammoth. I've never been on a honeymoon so im not sure what exactly you're looking for but...

Tahoe has more to do after hours, reno is only an hour, there are more cities around the lake, etc. Mammoth has a natural hot springs, great resorts, TONS of snow (i was up last weekend), they satisfy all your skiing needs. Mammoth does not have much of a night life...there are a few nice restaurants though, check out whiskey creek, it's fancy schmancy. make sure you have 4X4!

  2. I say Tahoe - more resorts, more to do and less driving / plane changes to get there.

Stay in a nice room in Reno (Grand Sierra) or in S. Lake Tahoe.

  3. I've never been to mammoth. Just to tahoe alot. The good things about tahoe is that there are plenty of resorts up there to fit your skill level. and that Reno is about an hour drive away. (the closest is i think a 10 min drive to mount rose). It would be a good place to spend your honeymoon. On the otherhand, I have wanted to go to Mammoth to check out their terrain parks, as it is one of the top 10 in the US.
