My husband has some mammoth tusks that he inherited from his grandpa. It was something that his grandpa and the men that worked for him found years ago... Where could we go to find the value of them and are they worth anything seeing as they are ivory and that is illegal? Thanks!

  1. Mammoth bones are cool!!! Anyway, you could sell them maby to a scientist for him to study it, or a museum or to a antique store. They also sell small pieces of mammoth tusks in a kids antique pack usually sold in museum souvenir shops and toy stores. But if I were you, I would keep it, they are very limited, since the mammoths are extinct!

  2. Selling the tusks is not illegal, as long as you are the rightful owner and legitimately obtained them. The ivory trade is meant to protect endangered animals that are living today. You may want to contact a museum of natural history or a university to see if they are interested. Otherwise, something like Ebay may be the way to go. You aren't going to get rich selling the mammoth bones though.
