Complexion color - a bit tan. Not fair, not dark.

Any other style/color suggestions??

  1. Black to me is the most formal.

  2. Solid Black! Or Pinstriped.

  3. Depends on what the weddings colors are, and the season.

A light gray for spring/summer is nice. That is what ours wore for our July wedding; the women wore printed dresses with lilac, pink, yellow and light teal flower sprigs on them.

Navy would be okay for summer too, I suppose, as well as fall/winter. If he's buying a suit, he'd probably get the most wear out of it - a navy pinstripe, or a charcoal pinstripe.

Black only for fall/winter. (Neither my husband nor I like black suits!)

  4. I would have to say gray.

  5. i say gray....

    it's very nice and nuetral

  6. my husband wore a black suit with like metallic light white pinstripes and a very nice silk white tie.....hes also tan but not dark.... and he looked ridiculously handsome! and then for our second wedding (we had 2 haha) he wore a black tux with a white bowtie (his groomsmen had black bowties) and they all looked so cute!

  7. black is very formal but also a little somber as a suit - you would get more mileage out of a navy suit.  Equally formal in business and less funeral-esque.

but if you are truly looking for formal, go for a tuxedo!

    Have fun!

  8. Black is always acceptable and appears the most formal.

But you might consider the season when you are having your wedding, how formal it is, where it is (beach, church, cathedral......), and how elaborate your dress will be.  It may all have a bearing on what would look the best and most natural.  Of course, the groom should have something to say about what he wants also.

  9. We're actually using navy blue suits just because that's what he and I both liked. My fiance has really blue eyes and black hair, and he just looks good in blue. And all the guys said they could use a navy blue suit, so the decision was easy.

All those colors are neutrals, though, so they'll go with anything. It's just going to depend on what you guys both like.

If you're getting married in the spring or summer, you could also consider a nice khaki suit. We would have done that if we were getting married in the spring/summer:

I would suggest that you and your fiance just go try on a bunch of colors at a department store, and see what you guys like best.

    Good luck!
