Man Of Erin expected to win John Boyle Memorial Handicap
The W. T. Farrell-trained bay gelding, Man Of Erin, looks to be the strongest candidate for the John Boyle Memorial Handicap that is going to take place at Leopardstown on Thursday, July 5. The high-voltage Irish contest over 7 furlongs will begin at 7:30 (GMT).
On the good to soft course of 7 furlongs, the four-year-old young and brilliant horse will run against 10 rivals. If he wins, he will bring home the cash prize worth €5,865.
Man Of Erin has proved his racing skills well on different sorts of grounds.  Debuting in June 11, the talented son of Invincible Spirit, out of Dark Rosaleen, struggled for success until the end of last year.
The Alan Dargan-bred brilliant gelding took a break to tune up his running techniques. This proved advantageous, as he marvellously broke his maiden in his first outing of 2012 on May 16, causing a big upset, while being a non-favourite runner.
This was the Naasracecourse.Com Apprentice Handicap over 7 furlongs, held at Naas racecourse.  The Mrs Alan Dargan-owned sprinter moved on to elegantly win La Bucca Restaurant Handicap over 7 furlongs at Fairyhouse on June 6. This time, he was the 4-1 favourite.
These two back-to-back triumphs boosted up the gelding’s morale greatly. In his only outing entitled as Walls Handicap at Leopardstown on June 21, Man Of Erin nicely finished as a runner-up, sent as the 5-2 favourite.
It is for the first time, the maverick horse will run on a good to soft track under the new jockey Pat Smullen. This experiment is likely to benefit him.
However, Man Of Erin will have to be wary of Naoise, who is carrying a lot of potential and momentum at the moment. The J. S. Bolger-trained chestnut colt has been delivering excellent performances since the beginning of the calendar year.
After getting a runner-up rank at Dundalk in January, the son of Stormy Atlantic, out of Machinale nicely won Irish Stablestaff Association Awards 3rd March Handicap (Div 1) over 7 furlongs at the same venue on February 3.
The Mrs J. S. Bolger-owned veteran runner accomplished grand victory in WWW. Redbook.IE Handicap over 7 furlongs on March 16.
Thus, the confident colt is expected to make a big impact in his maiden outing at Leopardstown.
By and large, there will be an awe-inspiring clash in the John Boyle Memorial Handicap. Let us see who of Naoise and Man Of Erin carries the day. Good luck to the duo.
