john terry is a top drawer pr*ck and thug!how can that kinda character be named captain for his country when there are far better options available!..maybe Capello is secretly working for the italians and is sabotaging england!i wouldn't put it past the italians!hahaha

personally,i think nobody could lead the team as good as him,at least he's better than BEKHAM!!!!

though i love LAMPARD and GERRARD,i'll say 'yes' he deserves!

God Almighty, no! We need a captain who is prepared to run through walls if necessary, a man who can inspire the team with his leadership...not some nancy who blubs like a big girl when he makes a bollox of a penalty and gobs on opposition players.

Can you imagine Roy Keane crying like Terry did, in front of a worldwide audience? He'd rather gouge his own eyes out with a spoon. I reckon it should be Gerrard.

I'm a Man U fan... but honestly feel that JT deserves to be the captain.... he plays the game from his heart..... he's an excellnt leader... fantastic defender who gives 100% in each game...

Personally I would like Gerrard to be captain (and not just becasue I am a Liverpool fan), but I do think Terry is a very good choice, he is passionate and is a "typical" captain.  He is wayyy better than Ferdinand as captain lol

I'm Portuguese, therefore unbiased. In my opinion a new coach, and a hopefully new team should have a new captain. Beckham lost his captaincy because of ...Portugal :) and now Terry should lose his, it never is just the coach that makes a team under perform, it's also the captain.

No I don't think he does! Either of the other two would have been a GOOD and SENSIBLE choice in my view! JT has had his chance as England captain and he blew it so why he is getting another I have no idea! The first of many mistakes to come quite probably..

Well I don't really think that Terry would be able to lead England to any kind of glory although I deeply think that Gerrard or Rio would have been the better choice.

Of course this will be viewed as biased, as I am a Chelsea supporter, but I do think he deserves it. I'm not saying Gerrard wouldn't be a good captain, I think he would be fantastic, although I still prefer Terry as England Captain.

Don't get me started on Rio Ferdinand.

terry deserves only because rest do not have enough leadership skills.

its not that Terry is a good leader but neither rio nor gerrard has enough leadership skills.

he is a good defender and he leads by example.

so he is a better captain for now.

after couple of years, if rio is asked to wear the armband more often in old traffod, he will certainly be coach's first choice. because in a very short period as a Man U captian, rio has proved himself worthy enough to be considered for capatiancy where as gerrard and terry were the captains of their club nearly all of last couple of seasons.

so rio is a potential captain of the future. as for now, terry can do the job.
